    Auburn Maintenance CentreOn Thursday August 17, Transport for NSW and Asset Management Council successfully hosted the Auburn Maintenance Centre technical site tour.

    The Auburn Maintenance Centre is a train depot that is responsible for the maintenance of the Sydney Trains A set fleet operated by Downer Rail. It was an excellent opportunity to view and get up to date with this amazing facility.

  • Brisbane hosts the Maintenance & Reliability SIG

    Brisbane 21 Mar 19 2The Brisbane Chapter held a Technical session on the 21st March in conjunction with the Maintenance and Reliability Special interest Group. There were over 60 attendees present to listen to Mr Ian Sedgwick and Mr Ricardo Santos speaking about Dynamic lifecycle costing and Risk Based Inspection regimes respectively. This was followed by a Q and A Panel session which included the speakers and AMC board member, Dr Monique Beedles.

  • Brisbane launches into the topic of Asset Management in Aerospace

    AMc aviationThe recent Brisbane Chapter event held at the Jacobs offices was well supported and the audience were given an insight from Lucien Whitten from Defence Industries Qld into how the policies for aerospace are developed with a particular emphasis on the impact of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. This was supported by Andrew Scott who provided an insight into the operations of UAVs, the size and also complexity of the support operations with the most crucial part of UAVs being the people behind them. There was also an interesting discussion on the current and potential future uses of these assets and how the industry might develop over the next 5-10 years.

  • Brisbane looks at Digital Engineering

    Brisbane 21 March Pic 4 CROPPEDWednesday, March 21st, saw the Brisbane chapter host a technical seminar on the subject of Digital Engineering. A well attended evening seminar saw Ian Hardcastle (Digital Engineering Practice Director from Jacobs) present his observations and thoughts on the evolution of Building Information Modelling (BIM) into DE, and how the value of digital information can be created and also eroded.

  • Brisbane shines a light on the power sector

    image3Wednesday, 16th May, saw the Brisbane chapter host their latest technical session. The theme of the event was asset management within the power sector. The speakers were Ravi Malik from Origin Energy, Brian McMahon from Energy Queensland and Michael Pelevin from Powerlink.

  • Brisbane takes off to tour the airport!

    Plane Spotters AreaA successful site tour to Brisbane airport last Wednesday for the Brisbane Chapter! Thanks to Ken Chapman for facilitating the online register and Mark Jordan for joining the meet-and-greet of the participants, and both their support the entire period of the tour. Also, thanks to Ron Shuttlewood for organising the mini bus and Brisbane Airport community engagement advisor in advance, the transition went effortlessly. Great team work!

  • Brisbane talks Data Use in Asset Management

    Image 4Wednesday 22nd May saw 60 delegates attend the Brisbane Chapter technical session on Data Use in Asset Management. Daniel Osbourne, Graham Heiner and Wayne Holtham provided a wide variety of thoughts and examples on how data can be captured and utilised within organisations to inform decision making, and even discussed how decisions can be made with apparently no data.

  • Brisbane's AMP Workshop

    IMG 20190919 175625Thursday 19th September saw the Brisbane AMCouncil chapter hold an Asset Management Plan workshop event. In this interactive workshop session, over 50 attendees had the opportunity to look at development of, use and contents of an Asset Management Plan from several perspectives:

    20190717 232341The AMCouncil Brisbane Chapter's Legacy Way field trip was a great experience, with all attendees saying they enjoyed the opportunity to see behind the scenes and experience a real life maintenance shutdown.

  • Canberra and Bayesian Statistics

    Canberra 21 Feb 19 1Canberra chapter held a combined presentation and AGM on the evening of 21st February, with a total attendance of 16 members. Many thanks to Engineers Australia staff, who, as usual prepared the venue by separating a reception/catering area, and arranging seating and presentation aids in the auditorium.

  • Canberra explores Asset Intensive Industries

    Canberra 22 March 2018The Canberra Chapter of the AMC held our 2018 AGM and a presentation on the evening of the 22nd March at Engineering House in Canberra. This is a wonderful venue for presentations and the Engineers Australia staff, as usual do everything they can to make the evening run like clockwork.

    After a get together session over tea and coffee, it was down to business in the main auditorium. The presentation was about Asset Management Systems in Asset Intensive Industries, and with a total of 17 attendees from universities, defence, electricity distribution and consulting engineers, there was plenty of input from the audience, making for an interesting evening.

Thank you to David Scott from Wave Digital, who took the time to tell us all about their project, developing a system integration and data visualisation framework for South East Water, and to Tim Purves from Icon Water who talked us through the development of a Program of Work Balance Model.
