Asset Management Manager
Wendy McPate has 25 years’ experience across multiple sectors in both Australia and the United Kingdom; commencing her career in mining, resource, sugar, petrochemical and transitioning to the utility and energy sectors. She has a proven history of success in delivering outcomes and improvements in Asset Management, Project and technical Risk Management, engineering and maintenance. Her experience working as both a client and a consultant enables her to understand their respective influences and commercial drivers.
Wendy is currently the Asset Management Manager at Origin Energy for the Power Generation Business Unit which covers Gas, Coal and Hydro Generation assets geographically dispersed across Australia. This role is part of the Engineering Leadership team which works across the business with Projects, Development, the Asset Intelligence team and Operations. She leads a team of the Engineering Technical Authorities.
Wendy is an active volunteer with the Asset Management Council. Her current roles include the National Chair of the newly formed Power Generation Special Interest Group (PiAM), the Brisbane Chapter liaison for the AMBoK team and the assistant asset manager for the Asset Management Council's training course material. To compliment her Advanced Leadership Program scholarship (Women & Leadership Australia), she is also the Queensland Chair of the Women in Asset Management Special Interest Group (WiAM).
Wendy has a Bachelor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Distinction) and a Graduate Certificate in Asset Management. Outside of work, Wendy is a Mother with two young daughters.
