With 22 delegates in attendance from a variety of industries across Tasmania, including TasWater, TasNetworks, Hydro Tasmania, local government bodies, Fairbrothers, Launceston Airport and various consulting firms, the Asset Management Council’s Tasmania Chapter held another successful seminar on 20 February 2015.
Kicking off the event, Mark Corlett from Hydro Tasmania gave an outline of the AM Council’s exchange weekend and the upcoming AMPEAK conference. His presentation was followed by David Ellis, a leader at TasNetworks, who discussed the implementation of a computerised system for managing asset health and asset renewal investment plans at his corporation.
The following presenters, Paul Donohue and Paul Davis, both leaders in the water management industry, highlighted asset management strategies and the emerging technologies that can enhance asset management. The subsequent presentation, a report from Simon Chandler, focused on the many challenges facing small infrastructure companies through examples of his work at Launceston Airport.
The final speaker of the night, Andrew Sneesby, presented a case study on capital investment by focusing on how to ensure confidence levels are attainable before investing in corporate changes. Overall, a wealth of knowledge on asset management strategies and practices was shared at the event, and Tasmania’s Chapter Seminar was beneficial for all attendees.
