The final day of AMPEAK, 27 May 2015, saw the close of the conference and the end of a productive and technical three-day event. To give the final speeches of the conference, Jamie Maslen presented on the NSW’s EAM processes for implementing asset management, and delegates from the Malaysian government presented on leadership and culture.

One of the major highlights of day 3 at AMPEAK was Mark Mackenzie’s tutorial: Tips and Tricks for Reliability Practitioners. With over 20 years of practice in the maintenance and reliability fields, Mark collated his knowledge and insights into one presentation of applicable practices for asset management professionals. Whether his advice emphasized the areas of specifications, analysis, or measuring, Mark’s presentation could be applied across all industry levels and his facilitated discussions helped participants understand how to improve common practices and techniques. Mark’s presentation was one of the many technical topics presented at AMPEAK on Wednesday, and to close out the event, AMPEAK hosted a special guest speaker, Ms. Heather Swan.

Heather Swan and her husband, Glenn Singleman, have produced a combined three world records and two Australian records in extreme sport, including the official record for the world’s highest BASEjump in a wingsuit from 6604m on Mt Meru in the Indian Himalaya. Heather and Glenn have helped produce multi-award winning documentary films, as well as holding practices in writing, photography and medicine. Heather told the story of how she turned from city girl to extreme sport enthusiast, and how you can apply the principles you learned into your own life. Participants who attended Heather’s speech, remarked that it was both entertaining and insightful.

Overall, AMPEAK 2015 was an extraordinary success. We would like to thank all of the participants who travelled to Sydney from across Australia and abroad, and we are looking forward to AMPEAK 2016 which will be held in Adelaide.
