In this webinar, we will cover the fundamentals of Reliability and Reliability Engineering, including:
- What is Reliability?
- Why is it important to define Function, Failure Modes, Failure Effects, Failure Causes and Failure Mechanisms and what are these?
Since we work in the Operate and Maintain phase predominantly, our approach towards understanding these concepts may be different, as compared to someone operating in the Design phase of a product. We discuss the impact of Human Reliability and how man-made decisions can have a significant impact on the success of your mission.
About the Speaker:
Akshay Athalye, Senior Consultant, KPMG Australia
Akshay is a Mechanical engineer by trade but loves all things Reliability, probably explains why he prefers to stay away from European cars. He works as a Senior Consultant at KPMG within the Engineering, Asset Management and Project Delivery (EAPD) division helping clients in the defence, transport, and mining industry.
Akshay is an advocate for NOMTBF (Shout out to Fred Schenkelberg), and is always trying to get people to not use that terminology when defining Reliability. He recently started his own Podcast (Reliability – It Matters) to help other engineers like him to break down the complexity of the Reliability world.
