The Asset Management Council is looking for 3 volunteers from within its membership to take up the position of Trustees of the AM Council’s Annual Scholarship Program. 

Duties

The Trustees report to the Board through the CEO and are delegated to

  • Make recommendations for scholarship candidates to the Board
  • Supervise and monitor scholarship awardees
  • Comment on awardees research reports and sign off on completion of each scholarship award
  • Keep a listing of potential contemporary asset management research areas. 

Time Commitment

It would be expected that the trustees would meet at least once per quarter and ad-hoc as required to ensure committee tasks are undertaken. In the first year it is expected that two scholarships will be provided.   

Selection Criteria for Trustee

  • Financial member of the Asset Management Council
  • Significant wide and varied experience and skill in Asset Management at CSAM/CFAM or equivalent level and demonstrated through leadership
  • Recognised service and leadership in the asset management community such as service on an asset management council committee or project team, commission or task force
  • Demonstrate and display behaviours that fit the Asset Management Culture
  • Supervision and monitoring of Research and Knowledge products, people and methodologies would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Mentoring skills, evaluation skills, technical skills, report writing skills
  • Demonstration of understanding of global trends in Asset Management and vision for asset management into the future
  • Commitment to provide volunteer time to participate in the program as a trustee and attend meetings
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have knowledge and expertise related to the Asset Management Council’s strategy
  • Demonstrate alignment to the Asset Management Culture
  • Passion for the Asset Management Council’s mission and for improving asset management for the betterment of society
  • Ability and willingness to commit to the board’s expectations for service
  • Impartiality
  • Ability to work with other committee members as a team
  • Aware and manage conflicts of interest
