LNEC, together with some other R&D partners, some utilities, the Portuguese Regulator and two SMEs, have collaborated to develop a rather comprehensive project on infrastructure asset management of urban water services, the AWARE-P project (www.aware-p.org).

They recently launched the beta version of a leading-edge support software developed in the scope of this project. This is an open-source, public domain software. The AWARE-P infrastructure asset management (IAM) planning software for drinking water, wastewater and storm water services is an organized assessment environment where planning solutions or competing projects are measured up and compared through selected performance, risk and cost metrics. It comprises a portfolio of metrics and analysis tools that may be used individually for diagnosis and sensitivity gain purposes, or as part of the integrated planning procedure laid out by the AWARE-P IAM programme. The release of this first public trial of the Aware-P software also marks the launch of the new Baseform platform that will host and support it.

Go to baseform.org to find out more, or go directly to the Aware-P IAM application page to learn more and try it.
