MESA Medal Recipients: Jim Kennedy, Roger Byrne (2014 Recipient) and Nick Hastings
This year’s Asset Management Awards Night was held at Fraser’s in Perth. The night was an absolute success with a spectacular backdrop of Perth and the Swan River and our superb MCs, Mark Mackenzie and Greg Williams, keeping the crowd in stitches.
The Post-Graduate Student Award was awarded to Cristiano da Costa Cunha of Monash University.
The Best Review Paper went to David Zhang, Craig Crawley and Greg Kane for their paper Build Level of Services and Customer Value into the Decision Making Sydney Water’s Water Main Asset Management Strategy, while John P.T. Mo picked up the Best Research Paper for his work on Evaluation of Risks for Asset Management and Support Services Improvement Projects.
The 2014 MESA Medal recipient was Roger Byrne (seen above with previous recipients Nick Hastings and Jim Kennedy), for his outstanding and sustained contribution to the science and best practice of asset management.
New Zealand’s Meridian Energy were awarded Gold for their Markets & Production sector. They also received the Founder’s Plate for the most improved performance between Award reviews.
Finally, BHP Billiton Iron Ore were awarded Silver for their Asset Management Group. they also received the Nominee Award, in recognition of their selection as the Asset Management Council’s nominee for the Australian National Engineering Excellence Awards.
