Guidance on the Alignment of Functions

A well-known problem with technical maintenance and service delivery stems from the conflict that can arise through so-called “silo effects” 1 (Hotaran, 2009), i.e., when people in various functions who are expected to work together do not meet this expectation. While silo behaviours could be present in various functions of an organisation, this article focuses on the impact on asset management.

Applying Digital Asset Management to get the most from our physical and information assets

Last Tuesday, Perth Asset Management enthusiasts were treated with an excellent session on “Applying Digital Asset Management to get the most from our physical and information assets”.  Asset Management Council would like to thank the speakers Matthew Cheney, Helen Forte & Yvonne Power for sharing their experiences in this field.  Ankur Maheshwari, Asset Management Council’s Perth Chair, led the event.  Ankur mentioned that the event was very well attended by a very diverse audience across multiple sectors.  Audience participation was amazing and the panel session was very lively.

When is Vibration Analysis Useful?

We are surrounded by vibrations in our daily lives and most of them results from the surrounding machines and technologies that are so prevalent our modern society.  Some vibrations are inherent in all equipment, but how much of it is due to normal operation and when does it become a problem?
