For those local to Brisbane, come along for a field trip with us to Cross River Rail (CRR) this November! AMC Brisbane Chapter is proud to host a visit to Cross River Rail Experience Centre on the 3rd of November 2022 to get an understanding of work that’s being carried out at CRR and talk about the ability of digital engineering initiatives to create efficiencies and embed data-driven decision making within the asset management lifecycle.

The event will be run as a mix of Panel discussions with Andrew Curthoys (Digital Delivery Manager) and his team from Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CCRDA) where we will talk about CRR project, in-scope AM activities, digital engineering initiatives being undertaken, their impact on efficiencies in delivering CRR infrastructure and a Drone Fly-Through of CRR infrastructure by CRR pilots at the 360 degree Reality Theatre. Before the session, you will also have an opportunity to try out the virtual-reality headsets and take a tour of CRR infrastructure across Brisbane.

Andrew Curthoys, Digital Delivery Manager, Cross River Rail Delivery Authority

Andrew is the Digital Delivery Manager with Cross River Rail, responsible for leading all the digital elements (i.e., BIM, GIS, Vis, IDD) associated with the built assets that are being created as part of the Cross River Rail transformational project. The physical assets will have the digital elements – a digital twin – which will also be provided to the ultimate asset owning agency, Queensland Rail.

He is also the Chair of the Australasian BIM Advisory Board and the Deputy Chair of Infrastructure CoLab.

He is an APCC representative on the Australasian BIM Advisory Board (ABAB). ABAB consists of both representatives from nominated organisations, public sector agencies and targeted individuals. Organisations, agencies and individuals have been selected for either their ability to influence and drive harmonisation across Australia and New Zealand or contribute through their wealth of experience with BIM at the organisation, agency or project level.

Through his role at Infrastructure CoLab, he is actively involved in incubation of opportunities identified to facilitate new ventures, joint projects and even the creation of new start-ups. Working with industry leaders and backed by Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA), University of Queensland (UQ) and programmed by Business Models Inc (BMI), as a part of Infrastructure CoLab, he helps to mitigate risk and accelerate success by leveraging the power facilitated through diverse networks.
