Critical Infrastructure Management within your Asset Management Program

Last night saw the Canberra Chapter host it’s first event of the year where delegates gathered to learn about how updates to the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act have brought more infrastructure systems within the purview of the legislation.  In his presentation, AMCouncil Canberra Chapter Chair Wayne Francisco talked to how the protection of Critical Infrastructure can be aligned within an Asset Management Program with reference to the GFMAM Asset Management Landscape Subjects.

Summary:

RAMS (Reliability Availability Maintainability & Safety) is a common term used in asset management and systems engineering to represent the consideration of uncertainty for a given asset life-cycle. RAMS Engineering as an engineering discipline is dedicated to the elimination of assets, equipment, process, services failures throughout the life-cycle. It is a specialist field as a sub-discipline of Systems Engineering which is recognised as important during design phase but often not utilised fully to realised its value. This paper presents how RAMS engineering skills contribute to the life-cycle performance of a product/asset/services and how various tools can be applied.

About the speaker: 

Allen is a senior engineering and commercial leader demonstrated in complex and asset-intensive operations, delivering initiatives and changes to realise full value and return for assets, people and investors. Currently lead Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting Australia’s Competency Centre in RAMS, Systems Engineering and Asset Management.

Perth Chapter Celebrates

What a fantastic year 2022 has been for the Perth Chapter of the Asset Management Council. It was great to see so many of you down at the end of year event last Wednesday night. We appreciated the opportunity to discuss some of the Perth Chapter highlights from 2022 and some of the things we have to look forward to in 2023. Thanks to all the the Perth Chapter membership for your support and the Perth Committee Members for all your hard work over the last year. Special thanks to Robert Musca for organising this event and finding such a great venue at The Shoe Bar and Cafe in Yagan Square.
