The Asset Management Council’s government-sector community of practice was created in order for AM professionals in government bodies to convene, share, and grow their asset management skills and knowledge. It acts as a single meeting place for government professionals in asset management, bringing together and establishing connections that may have otherwise not been available.

Recently, the Asset Management Council’s Brisbane Chapter held a technical session with over 90 engineering and asset management professionals in attendance. Leading the event was the Brisbane chapter chair, Gopinath Chattopadhyay. Speakers who present from the Queensland Government and the Queensland Audit Office include Neil Scales, David Adams, Sandra Heidrich, and Patrick Fleming.

Asset Management Council Gippsland Chapter Event
After an extensive career at both a technical and senior management level in the Power Generation industry, Graeme Offer made a switch to Local Government, where he was involved in the rapidly emerging Asset Management field at a high-growth Queensland regional city.
Graeme will share some observations on the different approaches to Asset Management in the two industries, and will share some of his experiences in implementing Asset Management in a local government environment.
