Happy World Maintenance Day! Today, we celebrate the first Global Maintenance Day, a day to promote and celebrate the value of maintenance in our lives.

We will be celebrating with a panel discussion webinar from our MRiAM (Maintenance & Reliability) special interest group of the AMCouncil. AMCouncil visits HMNZS Otago

National Chair AM Council Toby Horstead, recently visited our AMCouncil Corporate Member Babcock for a tour of the Davenport Naval base in New Zealand, on 20 April where he was shown their application of asset management to the sustainment of the NZ Navy ships.

Toby was provided a briefing and presentation and met the Babcock onsite leadership team. Jon Irving of the NZ Chapter Committee then showed Toby around their work at the base and also specifically HMNZS Otago.

Meeting with NSW Building Commissioner

Toby Horstead National Chair AMCouncil, was invited, as part of an ACIF (Australian Construction Industry Forum) delegation, to meet with the NSW Building Commissioner David Chandler OAM and other ACIF members.  The meeting was held at the NATSPEC offices in Sydney with thanks to Richard Choy, CEO NATSPEC.

AMCouncil Acknowledged in CDRI – Global Study on Disaster Resilience of Airports

The report on “Global Study on Disaster Resilience of Airports Phase 1 – Understanding the Current State of Practice of Disaster Risk Management and Resilience” was released at the recent CDRI – International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure held 4 and 5 April 2023.  The report provides key insights into the current climate resilience practices of airports and perceived gaps and anticipates future risks.  Also provides some actionable recommendations to strengthen airport resilience.  You can download the report here.

Standards Australia Digital Twin White Paper March 2023

Standards Australia have released a Digital Twin White Paper in response to identified challenges of digital twins in Australia.  The paper recommends actions that can support Australia’s journey to national Digital Twin advancement and global positioning and leadership. These recommendations cover the areas of leadership and governance, critical market enablers and a national pilot program to activate opportunities.
