  • 2019 looking good for Brisbane Chapter

    qldamcThe Brisbane Chapter held a planning session on the 25th October to identify the topics for the technical sessions that will be held in 2019. This session was a lively interactive session with 15 participants. They took a fresh look at the technical sessions, with a view as to what was wanted from the sessions, what specific subjects rewash were of interest and what site visits might appeal to the members.

It was an excellent event with fantastic speakers, great engagement, tension was high. Carmel Moynihan who won the AOG 2018 Asset Management Competition came to receive her prize.     Symposium BlogIt is Friday 4th October at Pan Pacific Melbourne, a beautiful venue on South Wharf. The Asset Management Council is holding the annual Asset Management in Government Symposium. Delegates number over 130, with attendees from across the nation in both government departments and the private sector. The room is buzzing with anticipation. People mingle; some make new introductions, others reconnect.

  • Adelaide goes on an Asset Management Voyage

    adelaide 3The Adelaide chapter recently got together to hear from Johan Aaserud, Asset Manager (Life Cycle Engineer) of the Collins Class Program, ASC where the audience was taken on a detailed voyage of his journey across the seas of Asset Management among the waves and peaks of practise, training and certification. Second up, was Neda Gorijan Jolfaie, a PhD Candidate at the University of Adelaide to speak on his project around an optimal asset life cycle decision support model.

First up was Andrei Ezergailis, ASC Pty Ltd's CCSM LifCycle Manager, who flew in from Perth to go over ASC's journey to ISO55001's certification and the lessons learned from it.

    Thanks to Gary Penn from Aurecon and Mark Dragar from CutlerMerz for their insightful presentations on risk at the November Asset Management Council Adelaide Chapter event last week. Thanks also to all who have turned up to this years Adelaide Chapter events. Thanks also to the Adelaide Chapter committee members in helping make this year a good year and looking forward to working together in developing next years calendar.

  • AMC welcomes Chinese Delegation

    Chinese Delegation 5The AMCouncil Melbourne Chapter welcomed a delegation from China as part of their visit to Melbourne on Thursday afternoon, 20th September, who were interested in learning more about the Australian government and the Asset Management systems that are used within the three different levels of government.

    We have much to learn from the Chinese with regard to Asset Management. Thank you to Nick Phillips for presenting on the Victorian AMAF framework. We hope our ISO TC251 delegates can continue this relationship when they visit China in May next year.

    Indonesian Delegation OneThe AMCouncil Melbourne Chapter welcomed a delegation from Jakarta Province in Indonesia as part of their visit to Melbourne on Friday afternoon, 3rd August, who were seeking information sharing in asset management.

  • AMCouncil at the AOG

    AOG 2019The AMCouncil was proud to host a facilitated panel session at this year's AOG Expo to dicuss ways of improving the identification, evaluation and implementation of energy efficiency opportunities on oil and gas projects. Thought provokers on the panel included: Mary Hackett, LNG Marine Fuel Institute; John O'Brien, Deloitte; Francis Norman, NERA; and Ray Wills, Future Smart Strategies. The future of energy was much discussed. Are we moving fast enough to transform the way we provide energy to the world? Thank to Colby Hauser from Upstream Production Services who facilitated the session before opening up to the forum for some very interesting questions.

  • AMCouncil checks out Mexican Government Infrastructure Tool

    MexicoThe AMCouncil dropped by Trade Victoria office recently to meet with representatives from BANOBRAS. This included Mr Esau Garza, Trade Commissioner; Mr Alejandro Blasco, Head of Investor Relations; and Mr Luis Ampudia, Vice President of Investor Relations from Mexico who walked through the Mexican Government's newly developed Infrastructure investment tool which is a good reference to explore potential usiness opportunities in Mexico.
