The Sustainability and Resilience in Asset Management (SRiAM) Special Interest Group is seeking expressions of interest from members of the Asset Management Council to join the group in developing an annual business plan and providing guidance for the Technical Working Groups in delivery of projects.

The active involvement of AMCouncil members is vital to enable collation and curation of best practice examples and knowledge from all member communities, across all sectors and industries addressing relevant global, national and local challenges.

About the SRiAM Special Interest Group
The SRiAM Special Interest Group’s purpose is to clarify, promote and integrate sustainability and resilience as essential considerations in the context of Asset Management.
 
The SRiAM aims to bring together professionals to share knowledge, industry best practices, experience and case studies to support learning and sharing knowledge amongst AMCouncil members. Our ambition is to develop practical solutions, frameworks and tools to support asset management practices and industries across Australia and New Zealand to enhance resilience to climate change and strive to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

About the Role
We are seeking expressions of interest for one Committee Secretariat and two General Committee Members.

The SRiAM is required to develop and maintain and Annual Business Plan. The purpose of the plan is to identify the group’s strategic direction for approval by the Asset Management Council Board. Once approved, the SRiAM is to provide quarterly updates through the Chair to the CEO and make progress on identified strategies.

Committee Secretariat
In addition to the General Committee Member roles, this position also maintains the meeting minutes, ensuring they are stored in the Group’s shared file for access by the Group and Corporate Office.

General Committee Member

  • Actively contribute to the creation and implementation of the SRiAM Annual Business Plan.
  • Assist in developing an annual SRiAM AMPEAK session, including facilitation if in attendance.
  • Attend a minimum of two of every three scheduled meetings.

Term
The positions are all for a two-year period from appointment. As these are volunteer positions with no remuneration attached, the incumbents need to be able to demonstrate they have capacity to devote some time to the position beyond their daily employed position, and must be a current Asset Management Council member.

Commitment

  • Monthly meeting, typically 1 hour each.
  • Additional 0.5 hour weekly meetings in the lead up to AMPEAK and to review Working Group outputs.
  • 1+ hour per month to undertake research and contribute to the groups objectives.
  • Optional (5 hours plus attendance) opportunity to contribute to the preparation and presentation at an industry session such as AMPEAK.

Governance
The SRiAM Special Interest Group reports to the CEO.
