About the speaker: 

Jan Stoker is the founder and owner of SSAMM (Sustainable Asset & Maintenance Management), a research and consultancy dedicated to advancing Asset & Maintenance Management through research, education, and strategic advisory. Through SSAMM, Jan plays a contributing role in shaping the future of the field, delivering expert insights and training sessions for Cranfield University, the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS), and various A&MM conferences.

With over 30 years of experience in Asset & Maintenance Management, Jan has built a distinguished career as a practitioner, director, contract manager, researcher, and educator. His expertise spans Data-Driven Asset Management, organizational transitions, change management, and educational programs, with a strong focus on Sustainability and Resilience. He is particularly passionate about exploring the impact of AI and Industry 5.0 on asset-intensive industries, addressing the evolving challenges of human-centricity, digital transformation, and sustainable maintenance strategies.

As a Senior Lecturer and Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University, Jan contributes to Master’s programs in Digital and Technology Solutions, Maintenance Engineering, and Asset Management, where he bridges academic research with industry application. Additionally, in his role as Chair of the European Training Committee at EFNMS, he leads initiatives to develop training and certification programs that equip today’s professionals and the NextGen workforce with the knowledge and skills to navigate the future of the industry.

Jan holds double Master’s degrees in Asset & Maintenance Management and Asset Integrity Management and has been a PhD candidate at TU Delft. His career began in engineering within the built environment, energy, and mechanical sectors, later progressing into senior leadership roles in infrastructure, telecom, and government asset management. Last but not least, to stay at the forefront of the field, Jan recently achieved the prestigious CAMA certification from WPiAM in collaboration with the organization.
