The Asset Management Council Board has proudly launched a 10-year scholarship grant program, exclusively for AMCouncil members active in the industry. This initiative is designed to advance the art and science of asset management practice. A dedicated scholarship committee, chaired by Wendy McPate, Peter Kohler, and Professor Gopinath Chattopadhyay, was formed to spearhead this effort.
After inviting Expressions of Interest last year, the AMCouncil is thrilled to announce the selection of two outstanding candidates for 2024. Scholarships have been awarded to Nathan Xavier and Susan Rebano-Edwards, both of whom have proposed innovative research topics in the field of asset management.
Nathan Xavier, who serves as the Strategic Asset and Environmental Specialist at Melbourne Cricket Club in Victoria, will explore the role of carbon accounting in sustainable asset management. His research will focus on capturing carbon emissions related to asset management, including those from the value chain.
Dr. Susan Rebano-Edwards, a Senior Asset Management Specialist at Essential Energy in Port Macquarie, NSW, will develop a digital tool for value chain analysis. Her project aims to evaluate each activity within an asset management value chain, identifying key opportunities for enhancement.
We extend our warmest congratulations to both Nathan and Susan. The AMCouncil eagerly anticipates the presentation of their research findings at AMPEAK25 on the Gold Coast.
