The AM Council is seeking expressions of interest from its membership for suitably qualified persons to join an enthusiastic team to review the Framework for Asset Management 2nd Ed. AMBoK Document. Here is a chance to contribute to the alignment of the AM Council’s generic asset management models with the No. 1 Asset Management Framework Document resource in the world, in light of recent updates in the AM Landscape – resources developed by industry for industry.
The Task
The AM Council GFMAM Representatives, John Hardwick and Dave Daines, will provide updates on the AM GFMAM Landscape document and guidance on the AM Council Models. Project Team members will also be provided with guidance on how the model and Framework for Asset Management document are to be reviewed, including templates. A team kick-off meeting is proposed for Thursday, 14th March 2024, at 6pm AEDT, with ongoing web-based meetings as required during the 3-month project, concluding with a final meeting on Thursday, 27th June 2024.
Each of the three project groups is tasked with considering the elements of one assigned AM Council Model and its associated written description, taking into consideration recent global asset management updates and comments from a recent survey on the document, reviewing the document using ISO Standards processes. This entails reviewing the assigned section of the document line by line and advising where changes are thought necessary, and if so, proposing alternatives. Consensus on the changes is required by the team.
The Commitment
You would need to have time from late March 2024 through to the last week of June 2024 to commit to 3 months of intense volunteer effort in out-of-work hours, commencing the week of 18th March 2024 and finishing on 1st July 2024.
The document review is to be completed by 1st July 2024.
The Reviewer – Team Member
To be considered, you would need to have:
- At least 5 years of experience in Asset Management
- Hold personal certification with the AM Council (CAAM, CPAM, CSAM, CFAM) or CAMA qualification with WPiAM
The Project Manager (3 positions)
The Project Manager must be able to lead discussions and gain consensus from the team on changes, in addition to having subject matter experience and holding certification in asset management as described for the reviewer team members. He/she should have experience in managing projects to keep to time and focus on the task. Ideally, they should also hold CSAM or CFAM qualifications under the AM Council certification scheme or CAMA qualification under the WPiAM scheme.
The Project Manager must be willing to work with the AM Council Steering Coordination Group for this project to ensure final document readability and conformity.
