Stakeholder Forum hosted by the Australian Water Association, 22 November

Many of you may be aware of the proposal to develop an international standard in Asset Management. The process of development of the standard began in July 2010 and involves input from relevant stakeholders from every continent.

To ensure that Australia’s interest are represented, the Australian Water Association has been working with other peak bodies including the Asset Management Council (AM Council), IPWEA and WSAA to establish a common position on what the Australian utilities industry needs form such a standard. However, we are looking for feedback from members on what YOU would like to see in the standard. As such, AWA has arranged a joint symposium with AM Council, IPWEA and WSAA which will be held on the afternoon immediately prior to the upcoming AWA National conference on Sustainability and Asset Management.

This symposium will include the following:

  • brief overview of the current status of development of the proposed ISO standard
  • brief presentations form a key industry groups on their expectations from the standard
  • an open forum for discussion on what the standard needs to include

This is a great opportunity to find out at first hand what’s happening in the development of a standard on asset management and what it may mean to the water industry.
