Introduction: Welcome to the Sustainability and Resilience in Asset Management (SRiAM) Special Interest Group! We’re excited to announce a unique opportunity for members of the Asset Management Council to contribute to a vital discussion on sustainability in asset management. We’re forming a new working group focused on ‘Asset Management Decision-Making through a Sustainability Lens,’ and we’re calling for your expressions of interest.
The Opportunity: Our goal is to create a dynamic team to develop a discussion paper that will shape the future of asset management decision-making with a sustainability perspective. This is your chance to influence how we, as a community, address global, national, and local challenges through sustainable asset management practices.
What the Working Group Entails: The group’s mission is to research and develop a comprehensive insights document on sustainable asset management decision-making. This includes exploring current and emerging methods, and formulating a 10-15 page insights paper titled “Asset Management Decision Making through a Sustainability Lens.” The project will span six months, starting from our first meeting in early February 2024.
Your Role and Commitment: As a working group member, you will:
- Participate in bi-weekly one-hour meetings.
- Dedicate additional time for research and development of the insights document.
- Potentially prepare and present at an industry session during AMPEAK 2024. Your experience in any phase of the asset lifecycle and your commitment to sustainable practices will be crucial.
Skills and Experience We’re Looking For:
- Experience in asset lifecycle and investment decision-making.
- Familiarity with Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage a diverse audience.
- A positive, collaborative attitude.
Governance: The SRiAM SIG Committee, backed by the AMC Board, will oversee the working group, providing guidance and support throughout the project.
How to Apply: If you’re enthusiastic about contributing to this pioneering initiative, we’d love to hear from you. Please click here to fill out a short application form. Hurry, as the deadline for applications is 5 PM AWST on Wednesday, 13th December 2023.
Closing Thoughts: This is more than just a working group; it’s a chance to be at the forefront of sustainable asset management. We appreciate your interest and look forward to potentially collaborating with you.
