Byron Martin
Byron Martin hopes that MESA will become more relevant in asset management and maintenance in the next decade, leading to greater value in membership for up and coming professionals in the discipline.
He says the changes now occurring are the most important he has seen since he became involved with MESA.
And, as a university lecturer and consultant in the field, he is in an ideal position to observe those changes and assess their potential impact on industry.
Byron is involved in the maintenance field through condition monitoring. He is adjunct senior lecturer and mechanical testing manager at the University of Adelaide. He is also a self- employed consultant in industrial acoustics and vibration including condition monitoring.
Access to professional information and the ability to network attracted Byron to MESA. He initially stood as a councillor and today is chairman of the South Australian chapter.
