Ray Beebe
Ray Beebe’s lengthy involvement in asset management education and training speaks volumes about his contribution to AMC and the future of asset management.
Following 28 years in power generation, since 1992 he is a Senior Lecturer at Monash University’s School of Applied Sciences and Engineering at their Churchill campus and chairman of AMC Gippsland Chapter. Ray joined AMC on its establishment, setting up the Chapter soon after.
Ray has the distinction of having presented one and at times two papers at every ICOMS up to 2008.
He says physical asset management is coming under greater public scrutiny and there is a growing and unmet demand for professionals, making continued learning essential. As such, the value of AMC membership will be greatly enhanced with professional management and the introduction of online resources. Information and services will be available online to those unable to attend AMC events.
During an extensive career, Ray has developed condition monitoring application and now manages the postgraduate off campus learning program in maintenance and reliability engineering, as well as running short courses in various countries. He has been recognised with several awards for his books and papers. He gained MEngSc in 2008 based on his steam turbines and pumps publications.
He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia, a Chartered Professional Engineer and member ASME.
