Exploring Global Asset Management Practices: Insights from Australia and the UAE

Last night, the Asset Management Council’s Melbourne Chapter hosted an engaging technical meet titled “Different Contexts – Same Problems: A discussion about how AM is undertaken in Australia vs the UAE.” This insightful event featured a presentation by Travis Soutter, Managing Director of Concordia Asset Management. Travis guided the attendees through a comparative analysis of asset management practices in Australia and the UAE, highlighting how both regions, despite their distinct landscapes, regulatory frameworks, and economic conditions, face similar challenges.

Berwick Victoria – Digital twins for asset management applicable to industries, smart houses, and health assets

Speakers will present a case based on full-fledged digital twin and potential application of technologies for asset management. About the speakers:

Professor Rakesh Mishra, a fluid dynamics expert at the University of Huddersfield, has extensive teaching and research experience, with over 200 publications. He leads the Energy Emission and Environmental Research Group and is heavily involved in renewable energy, digital twins linked to asset management and industry consulting. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of multiple institutions.

 

Leigh Fleming is the Acting Head of Engineering at the School of Computing and Engineering, Huddersfield University, UK. With a PhD in 3D analysis of hip replacements, her research focuses on metrology for skin interfaces and assistive technologies for health. She collaborates on SMART home health systems linked to asset management and teaches materials, thermofluids, and research methods. Leigh is passionate about EDI and social mobility in higher education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
