As part of the ISO 55000 series of standards for asset management, a new standard is being developed in relation to asset management decision making. This new standard is ISO 55014 and has progressed to working draft stage. MB-019 has the opportunity to provide feedback on the working draft of ISO 55014.

The Asset Management Council representative on MB-019, Antony Straubhaar, is inviting members of the Asset Management Council to provide insights that will influence the development of the standard.

Whilst the early copy cannot be shared, the following questions cover the framework development and implementation areas of the standard that will most benefit from members’ input:

  • Describe the issues that should be taken into account when developing an effective asset management decision making framework
  • Describe the main enablers and barriers to consistently and effectively applying an asset management decision making framework
  • Give an example of an asset management decision making framework and describe its application

Please note that any examples shared should be de-identified and not contain any sensitive material, as the content may be shared in an uncontrolled environment.

If you wish to provide feedback, please follow the instructions on the email sent to all members on 14 April. Please provide your responses by 24 April 2025 to enable sufficient time to process the feedback before feedback is shared with the committee at the end of April.
