Hot or not: Planning for a cool, green Western Sydney
How you feel about Sydney in the summertime depends a lot on where you live. Western Sydney gets hot – very hot – and communities need more clean, green public spaces. But Western Sydney is in the midst of an exciting transformation – the creation of the new Western Parkland City – and water is at the heart of this development. Imagine cool, green suburbs with natural swimming spots, recycled water, locally sourced food and renewable energy powered by waste. Renée Ingram, Head of Western Sydney Development at Sydney Water, shows how we can realise this once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a resilient and sustainable city where people want to live, work and visit.
