The Tasmanian Chapter held a seminar about ISO 5500X on Friday 8th November in Campbell Town, with a good turnout from the local industries. From the presentations and resulting discussions, it is evident that ISO is gaining great attention and momentum across the country, before its official release in January 2014.

This seminar was chaired by the Tasmanian Chapter Chair, Andrew Sneesby, who introduced the Asset Management Council and talked about the Council vision and mission. This was followed by presentations:

  • Tony Ang from Hydro Tasmania, who discussed Hydro Tasmania Asset Management journey ;
  • Paul Agar from Agar Consulting, who Covered benefits and practical implementation of ISO 55001; and
  • Mo Barghash from the AM Council, who presented about the AM Certification Scheme benefits for individuals and organisations.

As an initiative in starting the process of sharing ideas within the chapter group, Andrew Sneesby is creating an event schedule, with meetings every three to four months.
