A report released in Jan23 entitled “ The Circularity Gap Report”

  • examines the global issue of rising material extraction and use
  • outlines how with a circular economy we can fulfil peoples needs for materials within the safe limits of the planet
  • points out how to use less, use longer, use again and make clean circular  solutions for four of the global systems (food systems, built environment, mobility and transport,  manufactured goods and consumables)
  • how purpose drive collaboration between public and provide sector can be used to scale the transition to a circular economy
  • acknowledging that differences in approaches from each country are expected to meet the shared global foal of reversing environmental overshoot whilst meeting needs of people.

This report argues that a circular economy offers solutions on how to reduce, regenerate and redistribute vital materials use, for both the planet and all its living beings.
