The world of asset management is vast, dynamic, and ever-evolving. For young professionals stepping into this realm, the journey can be both exciting and daunting. Recognizing the need for guidance, mentorship, and networking, the Asset Management Council Perth Chapter recently organised a special event in collaboration with Water Corporation: “Where Asset Management Can Take You.”

Held last week, this free event was tailored for Young Asset Management Professionals (YAMPs). It served as a platform for them to not only learn about the intricacies of asset management but also to hear first hand from their peers who have already made significant strides in their careers.

The evening was graced by three accomplished YAMPs:

  1. Chenoa Lange, Senior Technical Advisor – Wastewater Processes, Treatment & Resource Recovery, Water Corporation. Chenoa shared her journey, shedding light on the challenges and rewards of working in wastewater processes and the importance of sustainable resource recovery.
  2. Nyssa MacManus, Senior Advisor Maintenance Solutions, Rio Tinto. Nyssa’s insights into maintenance solutions and her experiences at Rio Tinto provided a unique perspective on how large corporations approach asset management.
  3. Dylan Pritchard, Specialist – Asset Management System & Risk, Water Corporation. Dylan delved into the nuances of asset management systems and risk assessment, emphasizing the critical role they play in ensuring operational efficiency.

The stories shared by these professionals were not just about their career trajectories but also about the passion, dedication, and continuous learning that asset management demands. Their narratives resonated with many attendees, offering both inspiration and practical advice.

A special acknowledgment goes to Pooja Haria from the Perth Chapter Committee. Her dedication, vision, and tireless efforts were instrumental in bringing this event to fruition. Thank you also to Chapter Chair, Ankur Maheshwari, for hosting the evening.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Carla Boehl for capturing the essence of the event through her lens. The attached photo gallery showcases her brilliant work, giving readers a glimpse of the evening’s highlights.

Lastly, our sincere thanks to Water Corporation for their generous sponsorship, which played a pivotal role in the success of this event. As we reflect on the insights and connections made, we’re reminded of the immense potential and opportunities that lie ahead for YAMPs in the world of asset management.
